Our Post is a paramilitary organization. Rank is achieved by accomplishment and not by vote. The purpose of assigning ranks is to reinforce the learning aspect of being an Explorer and the new accountabilities that accompany a higher level of recognition.

Recruit

All members begin as Recruits. A Recruit is a member who has not yet completed the initial set of attendance and training and community service initiatives. With active attendance, a Recruit will normally be promoted to Officer within a few months.

Officer

An Officer is a regular member who has been promoted past the rank of Recruit. At this time, the Explorer receives the Post uniform to wear at public events.

Corporal

This rank reflects additional time devoted to training and community service and is the first rank to have  accountabilities within the Post.

Sergeant

Achieving the rank of Sergeant requires further training and community service and earning the Law Enforcement  Training Proficiency Award.

Lieutenant

Lieutenants have been a Sergeant for at least a year and completed a specific project, working with Post Advisor or Associate Advisor.

Captain

Achieving the rank of Captain requires having been a Lieutenant for six months and having achieved special recognition within the Post.
