We are a Law Enforcement Explorer Post in Cicero, New York. Our objective is to provide relevant training and leadership opportunities to teenagers who are interested in a possible career in law enforcement. However, the training and leadership and community service opportunities attract teenagers who have a variety of interests; not just law enforcement. Exploring is a part of Learning-for-Life, an arm of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Upstate New York Oversight group is the Hiawatha Seaway Council.

Our post is dedicated to the members. They are involved with the bylaws, they approve the uniform design, they participate in the training plan. Law enforcement is the fundamental element, yet leadership and teamwork and community service are what makes our post effective.

Our sponsor is the Cicero Police Department and we are proud to be a part of their organization. Cicero is a suburb of Syracuse, NY, and this environment provides us with a variety of law enforcement organizations from whom we can learn. Specifically, this environment provides the Junior Police Academy of Central New York, which is a major learning instrument for our members.

Finally, Explorers are not police officers. Explorers do not train in physical defense, carry firearms or other weapons, and do not participate in any potentially dangerous situations. But... we have fun. We enjoy an annual bowling competition and other events.  If you are interested in joining we would like to hear from you, Our members are involved, interested, and they commit the time to make themselves and the Post successful.
